Birthplace of Elvis | The First TVA City | “All-America City”

Tupelo, Mississippi
Located in northeast Mississippi, Tupelo is most well-known as the birthplace of Elvis Presley. Today, visitors from all over the world come to see the tiny two-room house where Elvis was born (as well as other Elvis-related sites around town) and to experience the annual Tupelo Elvis Festival.
It’s not all about Elvis though! The headquarters of the Natchez Trace, a scenic historic roadway that runs from Natchez, Mississippi to Nashville, Tennessee is located in Tupelo. It’s also a city full of great eats, including the “doughburger” (a regional specialty), barbecue, the best burger in America (named by Thrillist), and home to Mississippi’s first and only meadery.
Tupelo is our home area, so if you’re looking for advice from locals, we’ve got you covered! While we’re both from north Mississippi, we didn’t become familiar with the Tupelo area until we moved here in 2008. This means that we’ve experienced the area with the eyes of tourists AND we’ve discovered our local favorites as well. We love taking our visiting friends and family on tours around here, so we’re presenting that same information to you, our online friends, so you won’t miss a thing in Tupelo!
