Tacos Guss: The Best Tacos in Cabo San Lucas
How do you feel about tacos? If you’re pretty indifferent, then you have not tried the tacos at Tacos Guss in Cabo San Lucas. These tacos were some of the best food I have ever tasted in my life; each one simple but glorious at the same time. Mmm hmm. Could go for one or seven right about now.
You know you’ve found a good eatery when it’s recommended by locals…and also when it’s painted bright pink. Tacos Guss just has that kind of confidence. It’s located near the famous El Squid Roe club, in walking distance from the docks if you’re visiting via cruise ship. We could smell the goodness sizzling before we stepped inside the restaurant. *drool*
This is a great little stop after a morning of visiting the famous El Arco (the arch) when you’re getting ready for some tasty lunch!
The only problem you should have here is decided what exactly to order and in what quantity. I did not want to stop eating. But, with each taco only costing us about $1.25, the fact that I kept ordering “una mas” wasn’t an issue.
We tried the beef, chicken, pork, and shrimp tacos in various amounts. We really enjoyed each kind, but I kept ordering more chicken tacos. The seasoning was just so good! If I am lucky enough to return, I will eat more items from the menu and in larger quantities. Seriously. I would travel back to Cabo for the sole purpose of eating at this restaurant again.
Of course, the tortillas at Tacos Guss are homemade, which is one of my most favorite things in the whole world! The meat was all amazing, the tortillas so soft and delicious, and everything tasted so fresh.
We also love Coke Light, which is Mexico’s version of Diet Coke, so that was a perfect compliment to the meal.
Did I mention that we ate here twice? Yep. In Cabo for two days, and we ate Tacos Guss both days. I ain’t no fool. Enjoying it while I could, for sure.
I was equally impressed with the toppings offered at Tacos Guss. The waiter brings a huge platter of fresh veggies and a tray of homemade dips/sauces to each table. Of course, I had to try the guacamole and each type of salsa. I’ll admit that some were a bit too hot for me, but all were so well-done. You’re sure to find one that you love!
We saw many couples come in and order homemade chips just to sit and eat all the salsas and guacamole. Well played, well played. I would have done that too, but I wanted all the room in my stomach to be saved for those tacos!
Cabo San Lucas is one of the most genuinely friendly places we’ve ever been, and the people wanted us to love and enjoy their city. It’s definitely one of my favorite places in Mexico so far.
The area may be known for the spectacular arch and for some crazy nightlife, but I say it should also be known for Tacos Guss. I know I’ll always be wishing for una mas taco!
What’s the best taco you’ve ever had? Do you want to visit Tacos Guss? What are you excited to try? Have you been to Tacos Guss before? What did you think? We’d love to hear from you, so leave us a comment below!
