From macadamia nut cookies to dry roasted macadamias to pineapple-flavored, white chocolate-coated macadamia nut candies, we have loved every variety we’ve ever tried. Bags of Hawaiian macadamia nuts and macadamia nut candies are some of our favorite foods and souvenirs.
Sharing these little goodies with friends and family is also fun, so we served three different varieties at our recent Hawaii-themed backyard party where we invited our families to enjoy some of our favorite tasted of the island.
Because we love the macadamias so much, we definitely wanted to visit the homes of some of our favorite treats while island-hopping in Hawaii.

Best Place to Crack Open Your Own Macadamia Nuts
Ka’a’awa, Oahu, HI | macnutfarm.com
Address: 49-227A Kamehameha Hwy
We cracked open tons of fresh macadamias at Tropical Farms on the island of Oahu using rocks as hammers as we pounded away at the nuts on tree stumps.
It was an awesome experience, and quite challenging considering we had to battle chickens through the entire process. Who can blame them though? Those nuts are delish!

Best Place for Unique Flavors
Kainaliu, HI | donkeyballstore.com
Address: 79-7411 Mamalahoa Hwy
I can not say enough good things about Donkey Balls on the Big Island of Hawaii.mI originally thought that the names were just a ploy to get silly tourists to buy the product (boar balls, goat balls, donkey balls, etc.), but let me tell you: Their macadamia nut treats are awesome!
The funny name attracts the attention, but it’s the taste that will have you hooked!

The products are all high quality and the customer service at their store was above and beyond.
We ended up buying WAY more than we planned because we were allowed to try any and everything in the store. How can you possibly narrow down the choices when they’re all perfect?
Go in to have a laugh, but you’ll be amazed after you have a taste. Surprise your friends back home with a giggle and a sweet treat from Donkey Balls!
Our Favorite Donkey Balls Flavors: Salted Caramel Goat Balls, Prickly Balls Boar Balls (pineapple-flavored, white chocolate-covered macadamia nuts), and Jenni’s ultimate favorite: Phthphth Boar Balls (raspberry flavored, chocolate-covered macadamia nuts).
